What are email templates used for?
Email templates are pre-written emails you can send to candidates. Use them for interview invitations, application acknowledgments, rejection letters, offer letters, and any other candidate communication. Templates save time and ensure consistency.
What merge fields are available?
Merge fields include: {{candidate_name}}, {{candidate_email}}, {{job_title}}, {{company_name}}, {{interviewer_name}}, {{interview_date}}, {{interview_link}}, and more. The system replaces these with actual values when sending.
Can I preview emails before sending?
Yes. When sending an email, you see a preview with all merge fields populated. You can edit the content for that specific send without changing the template. Test sends are also available.
How do I create a new template?
Go to Settings > Email Templates, click 'Create Template', give it a name (e.g., 'Interview Invite'), write your subject and body using merge fields, and save. Templates are available immediately for manual or automated sending.
Can automations send emails from templates?
Yes. When setting up an automation, choose 'Send email' as an action and select a template. The system sends the email automatically when the trigger fires, with all merge fields populated.
Are there default templates included?
Yes. Prepzo includes starter templates for common scenarios: application received, interview scheduled, interview reminder, rejection, and offer. You can use them as-is or customize.
Can I use rich text formatting?
Yes. The template editor supports bold, italic, links, bullet lists, and basic formatting. Emails render properly in all major email clients.
Is there AI to help write emails?
Yes. When composing an email, click 'AI Assist' to get suggestions for improving your message. The AI can also help generate email content based on a brief description.
